Accountability & Confidentiality

4 .     Accountability

The BLMT members will report on their attendance to regular meetings, sub-committee meetings or to meetings of other related groups (WPACs, municipal committees, etc) as assigned. Their attendance to these assigned duties will be eligible for reimbursement as part of their BLMT duties provided they report to the BLMT on the outcome of the meetings.

The BLMT does not have its own budget or expenditure authority. All expenses of the BLMT will be approved by at least two members of the BLMT executive (Chair, Vice-chair, Secretary or Treasurer) before being submitted to the Department for reimbursement.

Through a process led by the Chair, an annual evaluation and review of the performance of the Team, sub-committees and the Chair of the Team will be undertaken. The Team reviews the results of such evaluation and discusses potential ways to improve Team effectiveness.  The Team also discusses the results of the evaluation and adopts agreed upon improvements.

 5.      Confidentiality

The confidentiality of issues and related information, brought to the attention of the BLMT, must be respected. No confidential documents, correspondence or information shall be distributed or published by BLMT members without express written consent from the Chair and the Department. The Chair, in consultation with the Department, will provide clarification and direction as to the documents that are to be treated as confidential.
